Change happens when people show up.

Why Volunteers Matter

People Power for Mental Health

Our volunteers play a vital role in engaging communities, supporting self-help groups, working alongside trained healthcare workers, advocating for rights and championing positive behaviours.

Advocate for rights

Raise awareness and promote the rights of people with mental health conditions.

Support self-help groups

Help self-help groups stay active and supportive.

Champion positive behaviours

Help reduce stigma and encourage inclusive, supportive communities.

Work with healthcare workers

Complement the work of trained healthcare workers in communities.

Women in Volunteering

More Women, Stronger Communities

The programme advocated for greater representation of women among volunteers. Self-help groups were encouraged to identify female volunteers, and as a result ten women were added to the pool of community volunteers, going on to support other women with disabilities and mental health conditions.
