
Mr. Peter Badimak YARO - Executive Director
Peter Badimak YARO is the Executive Director of BasicNeeds-Ghana (BNGh). He serves as the secretary to the Board of Directors of BNGh.
Peter Yaro is a civil society leader and public mental health specialist with over two decades work experience, with varied country and international level experience promoting and facilitating secure and inclusive people-centered development. Since 2004, Peter has been in the mental health and development advocacy space contributing to make mental health and health and inclusive development priority issues in Ghana and globally. Peter had previously worked for Voluntary Service Overseas, ActionAid and World Neighbors with a stint with Government of Ghana civil service.
Peter holds a PhD in Public Health (Health Policy Planning and Management; community mental health systems), with Masters level academic and professional qualifications in Public Mental Health, Leadership, Community Development and Environment, and a BA (Hon) in Sociology.
Peter is involved in international multi-country, multi-site research projects; current ones being HOPE Africa and Y-NIND intervention research programmes and the HHSDGs Thinktank. He is a member of the Catalyst2030 Mental Health Collaboration, Global Mental Health Action Network (MHAN), and World Association on Psychosocial Rehabilitation (WAPR). Adam Dokurugu Yahaya - Head of Programmes
Adam Dokurugu Yahaya is a seasoned project management professional with 19 years of experience in the mental health and development sector. His expertise covers social work, governance, and sustainable development, with a strong emphasis on programme management. Adam is particularly skilled in building partnerships and networks to advocate for mental health, disability, human rights, youth empowerment, gender equality, and social inclusion.
As the Head of Programmes, Adam leads the implementation of programme and projects, ensuring they are successfully implemented and aligned with organizational goals. His role also involves fostering strong partnerships with Local Government agencies and stakeholders, promoting transparency, accountability, and social inclusion. His role also includes strengthening the capacity of local partners and empowering people with lived experience of mental health conditions self-representation and dialogue with District Assemblies for inclusion in the development priorities of the Assemblies.
Adam holds a Master’s degree in Governance and Sustainable Development from the University of Cape Coast and a Bachelors in Social Work from the University of Ghana. He is a member in good standing Project Management Institute, Ghana Chapter and brings extensive experience in leading interventions in to deliver mental healthcare to rural, underserved communities in Ghana

Emmanuel Morna – Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)
Coordinator
Emmanuel is a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) professional with about 20 years of experience. Emmanuel has worked on several agriculture, food security, nutrition, public health/water, and sanitation interventions funded by USAID, CIDA/Global Affairs Canada, DFID/FCDO, EU, etc., primarily as the MEL focal person. He has also undertaken or participated in several consultancy assignments for various organizations, including conducting a final evaluation for a UNDP Programme in Sudan.
As the MEL Coordinator, Emmanuel leads the development and maintenance of a fit-for-purpose, user-friendly MEL system; oversees the implementation of various baseline studies and evaluations of projects; develops appropriate frameworks and templates for field-level data collection; contributes to project/programme-level reporting, provides capacity building support to staff and partners, among others.
Emmanuel holds a Master’s degree in Development Policy and Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology from the University of Development Studies. He is a member of the African Evaluation Association and the Ghana Monitoring and Evaluation Forum.

Christopher Yin - Finance Manager
Christopher Yin is a chartered accountant with over 10 years work experience in financial management and reporting, and successfully leading teams to deliver financial results for organisations. His work experience spans both the profit and not for profit sector. He has extensive experience in treasury management, working capital management, corporate and donor specific reporting, budgeting and budgetary controls, taxation, corporate governance, business strategy and internal controls.
At BasicNeeds-Ghana, Christopher is responsible for the financial management and reporting function, overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Accounts unit and ensuring the organisation’s finance function is organised and efficient, delivering value for money and producing accurate financial reports to management and relevant stakeholders, including ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements. Chistopher also plays a key role in the fundraising efforts of BasicNeeds-Ghana.
Christopher Yin is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and an affiliate of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (AICPA and CIMA). He is also a certified forensic investigation professional and holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration (Accounting option) from the University of Ghana Business School.
